Dr. Ros Taylor
She initially worked as a GP in Cumbria and moved into palliative care in 1992. In 1996, she took on the leadership role at the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, near London, a post she held for 18 years until March 2015.
She then became Clinical Director at Hospice UK, the national organisation for palliative care, while working as a physician in the busy palliative care team at the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.
Ros was awarded an MBE for Services to Hospice Care in 2014, following a nomination by a patient. She has been past joint editor of the European Journal of Palliative Care, and is currently working as Medical Director of Harlington Hospice.
Dr. Taylor now has over 29 years of experience in palliative care, has lectured widely, nationally and internationally. She believes that early integration of palliative care in respiratory illness is vital, working alongside respiratory physicians to maximise quality of life.
